Join the Women’s Canadian Club of Calgary at The Fairmont Palliser as Deanna Burgart shares about indigenous engineering inclusion. Since July 1, 2024, Deanna has been the Associate Dean, Indigenous Inclusivity and Reconciliation, at the University of Calgary in the Schulich School of Engineering. She is also a co-founder of IndigeSTEAM, youth STEM non-profit that incorporates arts and culture in science, technology, engineering and math. Deanna was an Indigenous Engineer in Residence and has been a faculty member with the University of Calgary in the department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, and Teaching Chair. She has focused on weaving Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into engineering since 2019.
After several years in the pipeline industry, Deanna (Chemical Engineering Technology ’00) launched a unique engineering consulting firm, Indigenous Engineering Inclusion Inc., with a commitment to bridging the gaps between the energy industry, government and Indigenous communities.
Luncheons are held at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel with a Wine Reception 11:15 am and Luncheon at 12:00 Noon.
May 7, 2025 luncheon tickets are available for purchase by mailing your cheque to 227 Arbour Ridge Way NW, Calgary, Alberta T3G 3Z3 prior to April 28, 2025. Tickets or memberships are not available for purchase through the website and must be picked up at the luncheon.
Please be prepared to show your membership card at the door. We cannot guarantee specific seating requests, unless all tickets for your group are purchased at the same time. There are no refunds for missed lunches. September, December & June are guest luncheons.
